In the Plenary Session of the Chamber, Around 80% of the Labor Reform Has Been Approved

La República
Labor and employment attorney Camilo Cuervo was quoted in a La República article about the progress of the labor reform in the plenary session of the House of Representatives. The article detailed that approximately 80 percent of the articles have been approved, including modifications to fixed-term contracts, labor contracts and night shift surcharges. Mr. Cuervo expressed concerns about the reform's impact on the labor market, noting that it could negatively affect employability and flexibility.

"The project has progressed positively for the government, but not necessarily for the job market," he said. "The plan is a setback for employability and flexibility in the job market. The measure makes regulations more expensive and does not make technical sense in its formulation and implementation. The needs of the current market are not being considered."
