Holland & Knight Advises MasTec on $420 Million Acquisition of Energy Contractor INTREN, LLC

MIAMI (May 10, 2021) – Holland & Knight advised MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ) on its $420 million acquisition of INTREN, LLC, one of the largest private energy distribution contractors in the country. The deal was announced on May 5.

Founded in 1988 by a sole female founder, INTREN is a premier utility specialty contractor primarily providing electrical distribution network services to the nation's largest utilities, municipalities and cooperatives. The company is headquartered in Union, Ill., and has approximately 2,000 employees.

Miami-based MasTec is a leading infrastructure construction company operating mainly throughout North America across a range of industries. The company's primary activities include the engineering, building, installation, maintenance and upgrade of communications, energy, utility and other infrastructure, such as: wireless, wireline/fiber and customer fulfillment activities; petroleum and natural gas pipeline infrastructure; electrical utility transmission and distribution; power generation; and heavy civil and industrial infrastructure.
