Intellectual Property Attorneys Kris Reed and Edward "Ted" Mayle Join Holland & Knight
DALLAS/DENVER (October 14, 2024) – Holland & Knight has bolstered its Intellectual Property Group with the additions of Kris Reed and Edward "Ted" Mayle as partners in Dallas and Denver, respectively. They were previously partners at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton.

Mr. Reed previously served as co-leader of the Patent Litigation Practice Group at Kilpatrick. He practiced in Kilpatrick's Denver office for several years and then served as the managing partner of the firm's Shanghai office. He focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and counseling, and works with clients in diverse fields such as electronics, semiconductor manufacturing and development, software, telecommunications, transportation, entertainment, retail and consumer goods, and financial transactions.
Mr. Reed has extensive experience in all aspects of federal district court litigation and International Trade Commission (ITC) investigations and trials. He is certified as a National Advisory Expert in China for Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Settlement. Mr. Reed has long been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Patent Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation. He received a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Stanford Technology Law Review, and a B.S. degree from the University of Colorado.

Mr. Mayle's practice focuses on patent infringement litigation and appeals, as well as administrative actions before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He has experience representing companies accused of infringement in cases involving various industries, including telecommunication systems, semiconductor, software-related systems, electrical systems, mechanical systems and medical devices.
He also has significant experience in inter partes review proceedings involving a variety of technologies. Prior to joining the legal profession, Mr. Mayle served in the U.S. Navy for nine years as a naval aviator flying F-14s. He received a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.S. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. degree from the United States Naval Academy.
