Jose Alejandro Vivas

José Alejandro Vivas Velásquez is a tax attorney in Holland & Knight's Bogotá office. Mr. Vivas Velásquez focuses his practice on tax law in Colombia, mainly on local and international tax planning, tax litigation, consulting and compliance.

Mr. Vivas Velásquez has experience assisting local and international clients in tax controversies before the Colombian Tax Authority (Dirección de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales or DIAN) and various Colombian municipalities. He has also participated in many transactions made in Colombia, including the negotiation and reviewing of share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements and tax structuring.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Vivas Velásquez worked as an associate in other Bogotá law firms.
