How Important has the U.S.-Chile FTA Been Over 20 Years?
International Trade attorneys Francisco Sanchez and Caroline Howard spoke with The Dialogue's Latin America Advisor about the 20th anniversary of the United States-Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA). In the article, Mr. Sanchez and Ms. Howard noted that the agreement has greatly benefited both countries by helping to quadruple bilateral trade in goods and services to $38 billion in 2021. The attorneys also highlighted which sectors in the U.S. and Chile the pact has helped the most.
"While this economic benefit has been enjoyed more substantially by Chile, the FTA has been a significant economic and diplomatic tool for the United States," they said.
