Top Environmental Lawyer Jeff Porter Joins Holland & Knight's Public Policy & Regulation Group in Boston
BOSTON (January 7, 2025) – Holland & Knight welcomes prominent environmental lawyer Jeff Porter as a partner in the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group in Boston. Most recently, Mr. Porter was a partner at Mintz, where he served as chair of the firm's Environmental Law Practice.
With more than three decades of litigation and transactional experience, Mr. Porter is widely recognized as one of the top environmental lawyers in the country and has been ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA for more than 18 years. He is also one of only three environmental lawyers in the United States listed on the Forbes Top 200 lawyers list.
Mr. Porter was a member of the transition committees for Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll and Attorney General Andrea Campbell. He also advised the Massachusetts Legislature's Committee on Natural Resources and Agriculture during the drafting of the Brownfield legislation that has spurred the beneficial redevelopment of underutilized former industrial sites across the Commonwealth.

Mr. Porter is a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and a member of the College's Board of Regents. He is also a Massachusetts Environmental Trustee and a trustee of The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts, having previously served as the chair of The Nature Conservancy's Trustee Council and as the chair and vice chair of The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts.
Mr. Porter earned a J.D. degree from Cornell Law School and a B.A. degree from Bates College.
