Holland & Knight Represents Attain Sports & Entertainment in Acquisition of Controlling Ownership Stake in United Soccer League’s Loudoun United FC

TYSONS, VA (February 7, 2023) – Holland & Knight advised Attain Sports & Entertainment on its acquisition of a controlling ownership stake in United Soccer League (USL) Championship club Loudoun United FC from former majority owner D.C. United Ownership Group. Attain Sports & Entertainment will assume operations of the club prior to the 2023 USL Championship season, which kicks off in March. The deal was announced on Feb. 2, 2023.

Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Attain Sports & Entertainment provides affordable family-friendly entertainment with a commitment to community engagement. Loudoun United FC will add to Attain Sports & Entertainment's growing portfolio of professional sports assets, joining the Baltimore Orioles Double-A affiliate Bowie Baysox and the MLB Draft League's Frederick Keys.

Loudoun United FC, based in Loudoun County, Virginia, was founded in 2018 by Major League Soccer club D.C. United and is the highest-level professional soccer franchise in the county that plays in the USL Championship.
