The new team of lawyers will continue its representation of a broad range of clients in the aerospace, agriculture, biotech, defense, healthcare, financial services, maritime, real estate and technology sectors. The team also is very active counseling entrepreneurs, venture capital and hedge funds, independent sponsors and private equity firms.
"We've been eyeing expansion in the Pacific Northwest, and specifically Seattle, for some time now," said Bob Grammig, Holland & Knight's chair and CEO. "Given the Firm's existing strengths in industries central to Seattle's economy, there is tremendous opportunity to support new and existing clients alike and grow our service offerings in the area. In particular, the Firm's new National Security & Defense Industry Group will provide the Seattle market with outstanding additional resources."
"I'm honored to lead Holland & Knight's charge into Seattle with this outstanding group of attorneys by my side, many of whom I've known for several years," said Mr. MacCormack. "Our goal is to build a full-service commercial offering, and this team, with its mix of complementary practices, gives us a solid foundation."
"Holland & Knight is a heavyweight M&A firm, which aligns well with our focus and clientele," said Stephen McKay. "The Firm's entrepreneurial and client-focused approach to dealmaking was very appealing to us and will benefit our practices for years to come."
"This is an exciting opportunity to become part of one of the largest real estate firms in the U.S.," said Kathryn Robinson. "The nationwide platform and local support that Holland & Knight offers is truly exceptional and a game-changing advantage for real estate industry clients."
